Connected Care: Good News for Your Business
August 25, 2009 - If no news is good news, then no error messages, no crashing systems and no downtime is good news for your business. It means you are doing all the right things to continuously care for your technology in a proactive, thoughtful and strategic manner.
This is the ultimate goal and the results achieved by DocuTech's Connected Care program, introduced in early 2008, which is utilized by many of the company's most successful customers.
"Connected Care is doing and better and better. I have to say the program has exceeded our most ambitious expectations," said Howard Podgurski, DocuTech president. "More and more of our clients who are using Connected Care find their technology is problem free, and continuous improvement allows them to move forward with little or no downtime."
When technology becomes this stable, you are able to:
- Focus exclusively on your business, unhampered and distracted by technology behind the scenes;
- Know and plan for your predictable IT costs;
- Appreciate the intrinsic value of investing in a true business partnership.
"Despite these excellent results, there is no resting on our laurels. We'll be doing continuous work to monitor, check, adjust and care for your IT infrastructure," Podgurski said.
DocuTech's Connected Care program provides continuous service improvement, maximizing the value IT creates for your business. Whether it's strategy, implementation or service, every time we touch your operations we are focused firmly on incorporating our process, methodologies and tool sets to drive value and ROI for your company.

New and Improved: Connected Care
April 28, 2009 - One year ago, DocuTech's Connected Care program launched with two goals in mind: To maintain and support customer technology systems at a fixed cost; and to monitor those systems to maximize uptime and avert catastrophic events through proactive measures.
The new business model of a proactively managed network is the reverse of the old break-fix model — no company these days can afford to have their IT systems go down, even for a short period of time.
But DocuTech realizes its technology partnership with customers needs to go even further.
"Twelve months into the new Connected Care program, we recognize we need to go beyond our original goals," said Howard Podgurski, DocuTech president. "We realize we need to provide each and every one of our customers with a process and a program that delivers continuous service improvement to their technology systems."
Exactly what does this mean for your company? DocuTech's new goal for every Connected Care customer is continuous service improvement—maximizing the value IT creates for your business at every turn, and incorporating processes that alleviate complexity and drive ROI.
"Whether it's strategy, implementation or service, every time we touch your operations we are focused firmly on incorporating our processes, methodologies and tool sets to drive value and return on investment for your company," Podgurski said.
Then, as your business needs evolve, as your infrastructure grows, and as you adopt new technology, continuous service improvement fosters operational excellence and positively affects your bottom line.

DocuTech Makes the Switch to
Connected Care
As information technology assumes a primary role in everyday business operations, DocuTech has switched its focus to Connected Care, a sustainable, proactive and partner-based model of managing customer IT operations.
"The traditional break-fix approach to IT service just doesn't work any more," says Howard Podgurski, DocuTech president "We can't wait for a catastrophic event to happen. No company can afford to have its critical IT systems go down - too many vital business operations rely on information technology. Panic can strike even when email systems go down, let alone a server or access to internet-based applications. We have to be proactive."
Connected Care averts downtime and catastrophic events through a partnership built on the mutual benefit of keeping technology systems up and running around the clock. Partnering for technology management protects mission-critical business systems, controls costs and eliminates the chaos of complexity and incompatibility within many systems, Podgurski explains.
Here's how Connected Care works: DocuTech first performs an assessment, evaluating a customer company's IT processes in terms of strategic business goals. A tool, placed on the customer's network to govern the process, operates continuously, generating reports, troubleshooting elements of key infrastructure and providing notification the instant an issue arises. All aspects of the process are completely customizable.
Connected Care's reporting and tracking, along with scheduled support and maintenance, provides a proactive process for optimum IT management of hardware, operating systems and applications. Isolated metrics can determine if a problem is hardware-related, software-related or user-related, allowing issues to be identified and resolved before they lead to bigger problems.
From DocuTech's point of view, the new IT mindset allows engineering resources to be allocated more efficiently and effectively, emphasizing preventive maintenance instead of reactions to catastrophic events. Customers appreciate the peace of mind proactive care affords, and find they have the ability to focus on core business activities instead of IT management.
Both DocuTech and customer companies have a stake in making sure IT systems are trouble-free-this is the basis of a true partnership, a win-win situation for all.
Lambertville House Partners with DocuTech
At Lambertville House, a classic boutique hotel in Lambertville, NJ, technology forms the critical base to attract and inform corporate customers and leisure guests, determine availability and process reservations.
Lambertville House owner Edric Mason, a former electric utility CFO, has high expectations overall and appreciates the benefits of building partnerships with vendors. As a small business owner, he was interested in establishing an IT support net similar to what he experienced in the corporate world, according to Bill Rossman, DocuTech technology consultant.
DocuTech and Lambertville House came together as partners after Rossman met the hotel's sales representative, Linda Gustafson, at a Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce networking event. Shortly after she told Rossman the hotel was looking for help in managing and maintaining their IT infrastructure, Rossman met with Edric Mason.
Rossman said he explained DocuTech takes ownership of a client company's IT infrastructure and does everything that is needed to manage, maintain and support the company's business. "Right away, he said 'that's what I need'," Rossman related.
DocuTech provided a Best Practices Assessment and set Lambertville House up with IT network tracking and reporting, 24/7 access to network and desktop technicians, and a proactive scheduled maintenance plan.
Mason is pleased with the results. "Small businesses need high quality partners, and I recommend DocuTech because they work with you in the form of a partnership as opposed to a one-time sales opportunity."
"Bill Rossman understands technology, recommends improvements in our operations, and has been in touch with us constantly to make sure everything is operating fine. When we do have a question, he responds promptly with the answers we need. In addition, the DocuTech on-site service technicians have proven to be knowledgeable and extremely interested in helping us have the best network possible and in providing quality service. As a result, we don't have any computer networking problems, which is the bottom line," Edric Mason said.
DocuTech and Lambertville House recently finished a quarterly review, and Rossman said Mason confirmed all Connected Care objectives are being met. Both partners are looking forward to continuing and growing the relationship.
