Tech Tip: Drawing Lines in Word
Here’s a shortcut to create lines across the page of a Word document. These lines will scale as you move the margins or if you change the document from portrait to landscape:
- For a normal line, tpe three consecutive hyphens ( ---) and press Enter
- For a bold line, type three underscores ( ___ ) and press Enter
- For a double line, type three equal signs ( === ) and press Enter
- For a triple line, type three pound symbols ( ### ) and press Enter
- For a wavy line, type three tildes ( ~~~ ) and press Enter
- For a dotted line, type three asterisks ( *** ) and press Enter
These lines are considered borders, so to delete, go to the borderline selection in your toolbar and select No Border.
