No IT Worries at Greentree Management
DocuTech's Connected Care has changed the way Bill Flax thinks about his business technology systems. "I really don't worry about it anymore," said the president of Greentree Management & Insurance, Inc., an independent insurance broker in Chalfont.
Five years ago, if you had asked him the same question, you would have received a very different answer." It's easy for me to sum it up," Flax said. "I really didn't have a system that worked. I was spending lots of money, but not necessarily in the right places." He said when his computer network would go down, he would have no idea what was wrong, yet he would waste time trying to figure it out, to no avail. "Basically, my system was broken, DocuTech fixed it, and they keep it fixed."
"As an insurance broker, Flax connects customers with policies, explains the details and helps customers make choices, provides a quote, services the policy and facilitates claims. Technology has transformed the way Greentree Management sells and services policies--the speed of quoting and servicing accounts has gained importance, and policies are managed digitally instead of on paper. In addition, new web site features encourage customers to initiate quotes online.
Engaging DocuTech's Connected Care program has made all the difference for Greentree's business operations. "They took my computer systems, which used to be very time consuming, certainly for a lay person, and made them work for me," Flax said. "They bring in new technology when appropriate, and keep my IT systems current, updated, and running smoothly."
Greentree's relationship with DocuTech is proactive as opposed to reactive. Flax says there are minor IT issues to take care of once in a while, but the solution is just a simple phone call away. "It's usually a minor problem that's typically fixed rather quickly," he said.
Flax says he now has more time to tend to customers, which is important to his business development. "I want my insurance customers to have a positive experience, much as my experience with DocuTech has been positive--when something doesn't go right, they make it right." Flax was introduced to DocuTech through a business networking group, where he met Bill Rossman, account executive. "First, I was a client of theirs," said Flax, "and then they became a client of mine. It makes for a great business relationship."
"This is a perfect example of business partners who share the same concerns," said Howard Podgurski, DocuTech president. He explained he has observed that organizations which understand the need for IT outsourcing and governance through a program like Connected Care also tend to provide a higher level of service to their customers.
For DocuTech, it was impossible to stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of state and federal employee regulations, health insurance variables and offerings. "For many years we operated in a vacuum of misinformation and ignorance," Podgurski said. "Greentree is our Connected Care employee benefits and health insurance provider. They consistently have provided more value and improved employee/management communications because our benefits plans are clear and well defined and because everyone knows we operate in an environment of openness and full disclosure with regard to these issues. Thank you, Greentree."

Tech Tip: Fast Formatting
A quick way to copy formatting from one area to another in Microsoft Word is to use Format Painter, the paintbrush icon.
First, click on the text formatting you wish to copy, and then click on the Format Painter icon. Format Painter copies the formatting of the area where the cursor is located.
To ‘paint’ the copied formatting, highlight selected text elsewhere in the document, with the paintbrush cursor. The new formatting will apply to the selected area.
If the Format Painter icon does not appear in your Word toolbar (it should appear by default), you can add it by going to Tools Commands, navigate to Format, and drag the paintbrush icon to a toolbar.
